The decision was made by magistrate Alexandre de Moraes, also has ordered the arrest of the former commander of the Military Police of Brasilia Fábio Augusto Vieira, carried out this Tuesday, and responds to a request from the State Attorney General’s Office.

According to the local press, Torres, a faithful ally of Bolsonaro, is currently in the United Stateswhere he went on vacation after taking over the Security Secretariat in Brasilia last week.

However, federal police searched Torres’ home in Brasilia for evidence.

On Sunday, under his leadership as head of security in the Brazilian capital, thousands of radical Bolsonarists roamed the headquarters of the three powers freely and destroyed valuable furniture for four hours.

Torres was removed from office that same Sunday by the governor of Brasilia, Ibaneis Rocha, who hours later was temporarily removed from his duties, by order of De Moraes himself, for his alleged failure to stop Bolsonaro’s horde that attacked the headquarters of the three powers.

In Brazil they suspect the complicity of the police with the demonstrators

According to videos released by the Brazilian press, some policemen stood by as extremist groups invaded public facilities and even took pictures of the moment with their cell phones.

Lula’s government suspects that Bolsonaro’s insurrection was possible thanks to the consent of the police forces of Brasilia.

In this sense, it decreed a federal intervention in the security area of the Brazilian capital until January 31st.

The provision assumes that the local police forces will be under the direct control of the central administration at that time, through an auditor, Ricardo Cappelli, who in turn follows Lula’s direct orders.

In one of his first moves, Cappelli, who is executive secretary of the Ministry of Justice, changed copsincluding Scallops.

The coup attempt has so far left 1,500 detained between Sunday and Monday, although 599 were released on Tuesday for “humanitarian reasons”.
