He was on a stretcher in the hospital and was forced to go to the bank to have an operation: “they are monsters”

Face-to-face procedures can generate significant complications, especially banking in institutions that often do not generate empathy with their customers.

An example of this happened in the Mexican city of Tlalnepantla, where a man had to go on a stretcher to a Banco Santander branch to terminate a process.

The customers who were in the club were outraged, photographed the situation and shared it on social media.

The man who went on a stretcher to perform a bank operation

The news was published on Facebook by the Tlalnepantla News site, and took place at the Santander bank branch located in Valle Dorado, belonging to the State of Mexico.

The image shows the man accompanied by a paramedic in front of the bank’s customer service counters. At the same time, an employee points a finger at him and another bank employee gets defensive when the patient/client scolds him sharply.

According to a witness who was at the bank, everything that happened “was monstrous”.

As expected, the picture caused rejection from users of social networks. Most Mexicans thought it was “very fair” for banks to force patients into these conditions be among the branches

In November 2022, something similar happened in Reynosa, in Tamaulipas, where an 89-year-old woman also went on a stretcher to complete a process for a pension in a bank.

What did the Bank say about what happened?

In the same Tlalnepantla News publication, an answer was shared by the official and verified account of Santander México. The statement said they “regret what happened” and said “the matter has been considered”.

Furthermore, they indicated that the “Zone Director, our highest authority on the territory, spoke with the customer to apologize and put himself at his service”. They also said they had initiated a review of the case to “take the necessary steps to prevent a situation like this from happening again by raising awareness of our team about it.”
