The former vice president’s lawyer Mike Pence confirmed they were found confidential documents at his home in Indiana. The news comes after the controversy sparked in the United States over the discovery of sensitive information in the private home of President Joe Biden.

Pence, who served as vice president during the Donald Trump administration, he was unaware of the existence of sensitive documents or classified in his personal residence, said attorney Greg Jacob.

The files appear to be fewer documents marked with classification than they were inadvertently placed in boxes and transported to the former vice president’s personal home after the administration ended, Jacob told the National Archives in a letter sent last week.

The attorney added that Pence understands the critical importance of protecting sensitive information is classified and is ready and willing to cooperate fully with the National Archives and any appropriate investigation.

In early January it emerged that confidential documents had been found last November in the private offices of the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Engagement, in Washington, which Joe Biden founded in the last of the aforementioned periods.

As the weeks go by, other material was found in Biden’s private residence in the state of Delaware.

There were new documents, some from when the current president was a senator (1973-2009) and others from when he was Vice President to Barack Obama (2009-2017).
