Terror in Chile: a group of commandos attacked a shopping center and escaped being shot

A violent assault generated terror this Sunday in a shopping center in Santiago de Chilewhere the criminals came in to steal dressed in white overalls and escaped being shot.

it all happened in the Mall Plaza Egaña shopping center, in the municipality of La Reina, in the city center. About eight thieves arrived on the spot with the aim of robbing a shop that sold technological products.

According to preliminary information, there was at least one policeman on the spot who was trying to prevent the attack. Faced with this situation, the criminals fled by gunfire in two cars waiting for them in the shopping center parking lot.

As can be seen on the videos from the security cameras, two thieves were injured, for which they had to be assisted by their accomplices. They failed to save one of them and left him lying in the parking lot.

Faced with the gunfire, shopping customers panicked and they started running around the mall Looking for a place to hide.

According to that country’s media, shots were fired both inside and outside the mall. There have been no reported injuries to customers so far.

“Eight armed individuals entered, with their faces covered, in overalls, armed with pistols, they knocked us down, they stole everything they found. They took out bags and bags,” said a Chilevisión reporter who was at the scene.

Another witness who was in the Egaña shopping center added: “They went in and out with weapons. What is very striking is that they were with radios and they indicated something, if the police were coming.”

According to that country’s BioBio outlet, Mallplaza deputy security director Horacio Graniffo indicated that after detecting the thieves’ presence theyand activated all the security protocols and this helped the police act quickly.

“Shopping malls and malls are places for family recreation. We need the authorities to urgently accelerate all the initiatives that are being developed, in order to counter this unprecedented wave of crimes”, added the deputy director.
