Miracle in Turkey: elderly women, babies and girls rescued 128 hours after the earthquake

An elderly woman, a two-year-old girl, two teenagers, a woman and even a boy were later rescued spend more than 125 hours under the rubble in the area hardest hit by the recent earthquake in Turkey, which still gives hope for the rescue teams.

The story of Menekse Tabak went viral around the world this morning after being rescued after the tragedy that rocks Turkey and Syria.

Death toll surpasses 24,150 in southern Turkey and northwestern Syria a day later Turkish President Tayyip Erdoganhe said authorities could have reacted more quickly to Monday’s big quake.

One of the women rescued was Menekse Tabak, 70. She managed to make noises by hitting the concrete until They found her wrapped in a blanket. Rescuers took her to a waiting ambulance in Kahramanmaras province, state-run Anadolu News Agency footage showed.

Also, a two-year-old girl was rescued alive in the middle pieces of concrete knocked down by the earthquake which shook southern Turkey after 122 hours.

The minor was found in the neighborhood of Antioch, Hatay Province, then, after 124.5 hours under the rubble, another 83-year-old woman was rescued in Malatya province.

Also, according to CNN Turkey, a 16-year-old teenager, Kamil Can, was rescued after 119 hours in the Turkish city of Kahramanmaras.

The state-run Anadolu News Agency also reports on a 50-year-old woman who was struggling caught between masonry and iron after 120 hours. She had been trapped in another region of Kahramanmaras

While a newborn believed to be 2 months old was rescued after 128 hours in the rubble

Similarly, after 128 hours under the rubble of her home, a 13-year-old girl was brought out alive in Antioquia. His name is burn and had been trapped in the ruins of the apartment building which collapsed in the earthquake.

Some 80,000 people are treated in hospital, while 1.05 million were left homeless by the earthquakes, huddled in temporary shelters, they added .
