A video of a nurse protecting newborn babies and young patients in a hospital at the moment of the strong earthquake that hit Turkey (Turkey) went viral online.

Turkish politician Fatma Shaheen posted on Twitter on the 12th a closed circuit (CC) TV video filmed at a hospital in Gaziantep, southeastern Turkey at around 4:17 am (local time) on the 6th.

In the video, nurses entered what appeared to be a neonatal intensive care unit and held onto the incubator, which was shaking violently due to the earthquake.

The nurses looked around at the scene and did not let go of the incubator until the shaking stopped.

Health Minister Pakhretin Koca Turkiye also posted CCTV footage of nurses running to their rooms at a hospital in Gaziantep on the same day after feeling the earthquake.

In the video, a nurse rushed to the hospital room and hurriedly evacuated outside the darkened hospital room with a small child in her arms.

The two videos featuring nurses protecting newborn babies and young patients became a hot topic on Twitter, recording more than 110,000 views and 390,000 views, respectively.

Minister Pakhretin Koca said on Twitter that there were several similar cases in other hospitals.

According to the US CNN, at least 34,179 victims have been identified so far (29,605 in Turkey and 4,574 in Syria). This far exceeds the number of victims of the 2011 Great East Japan Earthquake, which killed 18,500 people.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) said in a report, “The probability that this earthquake will kill more than 100,000 is estimated at 24%.”
