Shooting at a Michigan university: there is at least one dead and the police are looking for the attacker

at least one person died and others have sustained injuries as a result of a shot which began Monday evening on the campus of Michigan State University, in the United States. Police officers are still looking for the attacker and have ordered the students to “make sure immediately”.

According to school authorities, the first shots were fired at 8:18 pm (local time) inside Barkey Hall, on the north end of campus near Grand River and Farm Lane.

University spokeswoman Emily Guerrant confirmed detroitnews that there is a dead person inside Barkey Hall, which houses the School of Social Sciences, the Institute for Public Policy and Social Research and the Department of Sociology.

The suspect is still on the run and is believed to be afoot,” MSU said in a statement. “All individuals on campus and in (the) neighboring community should immediately shelter in place and secure the room they are in,” they said in a statement. Note.

For its part, the university police of the University of Michigan reported on Twitter the characteristics of the killer: “The description of the suspect is a short man in a mask, possibly black. She keeps fixing you in place. We’re still getting more calls than an active shooter on campus.”

The victims are transported to the Sparrow hospital.

School police said all campus activities were canceled for 48 hours, including classes and athletics. “Please DO NOT come to campus tomorrow,” they urged.
