Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iranian President Sayed Ebrahim Raisi met in Beijing to strengthen anti-American solidarity.
On the 14th, China’s state-run Central Television (CC) reported that President Xi had a summit meeting with President Lai Xi at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.
“The traditional friendship between the two countries has overcome changes in the international situation, and the two countries have supported each other and continuously enhanced strategic mutual trust,” Xi said at the meeting.
“No matter how the international and regional situation changes, China is committed to strengthening friendly cooperation with Iran and developing a comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries,” he said. We oppose forces interfering in Iran’s internal affairs and destroying Iran’s security and stability.”
President Xi also said, “China wants to support each other with Iran on issues related to mutual core interests.” We want to import more of our excellent agricultural products,” he stressed.
“Maintaining stability in the Middle East is related to the well-being of the countries involved and their people, and is very important to safeguarding world peace, promoting economic development and stabilizing energy supply,” he said. We support solving problems through cooperation and realizing friendship among neighbors.”
“China is committed to strengthening communication with Iran in multilateral organizations such as the United Nations and Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), implementing true multilateralism, and safeguarding the common interests of developing countries,” he said. “We will participate as a support group to protect Iran’s legitimate and legitimate rights and interests and promote an early resolution of the Iranian nuclear issue,” he stressed.
President Raishi responded by saying, “China and Iran are mutually reliable strategic partners. Our determination to deepen our comprehensive strategic partnership with China is unaffected by international and regional situations.”
President Raishi also expressed his gratitude to China for showing an impartial stance on issues such as negotiations on restoring the Iranian nuclear deal, stressing that Iran will support and actively participate in China’s Belt and Road Initiative.
“Iran and China oppose unilateralism and hegemonism, and oppose external interference in internal affairs,” he said. “Iran intends to strengthen communication with China on international and regional issues.”
In addition, he added, “Iran hopes to strengthen cooperation with China in areas such as trade and basic infrastructure.”
After the summit, the two countries signed bilateral cooperation documents in various fields such as agriculture, trade, tourism and environmental protection, with the two leaders watching.
The meeting between President Xi and President Raisi took place five months after the meeting at the SCO Summit held in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in September last year. President Raishi plans to digest the schedule for a state visit until the 16th.
