The airspace of the northern Chinese city Shijiazhuang was seen hit this Thursday for two hours after detecting an “unknown object” which flew over the region, according to local authorities.
The Civil Aviation Administration of North China said that a “unknown flying object”finally identified as an aerostatic balloon, which affected the proper functioning of the local airport.
However, they later assured that the situation had returned to “normality”, several local media reported.
The incident meant that between 11:00 and 13:00 local time, flights due to land at Shijiazhuang Airport had to be rerouted to other nearby destinations.
Chinese netizens have started sharing information about delayed and diverted flights at the aforementioned airport, which caused uncertainty among userswhen he realized that Lanzhou (west) airport was suffering from the same problems, although it was later specified that for the latter it was due to weather problems.
On the 13th, the authorities of a city in the eastern province of Qingdao also claimed to have located “unknown objects” in your airspace.
