Lula’s government says there is a Covid-19 vaccination record of Jair Bolsonaro, who has declared himself anti-vaccination

The Brazilian government said this Friday that there is in the system of the Ministry of Health a former president Jair Bolsonaro’s coronavirus vaccination recordwho has come out as anti-vaccination during the pandemic and has even campaigned against the effectiveness of immunization.

The information was confirmed by the Minister of the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU), Vinicius de Carvalho, although he clarified that still the veracity of these documents is being determined.

Specifically, we are investigating whether there has been any alteration in the vaccination booklet of the Unified Health System (SUS). For this, they will investigate the person responsible for registration and the person who would apply the vaccine.

According to the document, the former president received the single dose of Janssen July 19, 2021, in an emergency room in Perus, north of São Paulo. He had been discharged the day before after spending four days hospitalized with gastric obstruction at the Nova Star private hospital.

The truth is that Bolsonaro claimed he had never been vaccinated against the coronavirus and imposed a 100-year secret on his medical recordwhile claiming privacy.

On June 18, 2021, a month before he was due to get vaccinated, he went live to insist he would be “the last person” to be vaccinated in Brazil: “I am leading by example. After the last person has been vaccinated, I will get vaccinated“.

On that occasion he pointed it out contracting the disease is “more effective” than injecting the drug: “All those who have contracted the virus are vaccinated, even more effectively than the vaccine itself, because they have really contracted the virus”.

The former president has been in the United States since December 30, when he left Brazil two days before the end of his mandate. A few days ago he announced to the Wall Street Journal that he was preparing to return to the country in March to lead the right-wing opposition to the Lula da Silva government.
