The Pusan ​​University of Foreign Studies’ Department of Middle East Turkish Language Major announced on the 21st that they plan to deliver the funds raised to help earthquake victims through the Turkish Embassy in Korea. The Turkish language major student association held a fundraising activity from the 10th to the 20th, raising a total of 3.5 million won. As the news of the fundraising spread through social media, it is said that not only the students but also their families and friends sent 10:00 regular donations. Dean Kim Chan-yang (24) of the Turkish Language Department, who planned the fundraising activity, said, “Most of the 60 or so students have been on field training in Turkey for as little as a month or as long as more than a year, and they have received a lot of help from the local people.” I wanted to be of some help,” he said.

The Busan University of Foreign Studies student council also rolled up its sleeves. After hearing the news that earthquake survivors were shivering from the cold, they launched a campaign to collect clothing and other relief items from the 10th. By the 20th, 10 items were collected in the No. 5 parcel box. The No. 5 parcel box is a medium-large box used to contain items weighing about 7 kg.

The Green Doctors Medical Volunteer Corps of the International Medical Foundation, headquartered in Busan, dispatched medical staff to the site of the earthquake and began treatment for the fourth day on the 21st.

The volunteer corps consisted of 16 members, including ophthalmologist Dr. Jeong Geun of On Hospital Group, Oh Moo-yeong, head of Pediatrics and Adolescents at On Hospital, Kim Seok-kwon, head of plastic surgery, Park Moo-yeol, surgeon of Ilshin Christian Hospital, and nurses. They left Busan on the 17th and immediately after arriving in Turkiye on the 18th, they treated patients at the refugee camp in Iskenderun. Injured victims such as trauma patients and respiratory patients lined up and took care of 77 patients on the first day alone. Emergency medical kits containing medicines are also distributed to victims who have completed treatment so that they can deal with sudden emergencies. The medical volunteers will move to the camp for victims of the disaster and treat patients until the 24th. An official from the medical volunteer group said, “Medical support is very insufficient in disaster areas.”

BNK Financial Group conducts a fundraising campaign to help earthquake victims with customers and executives. When mobile banking users of Busan Bank and Kyongnam Bank donate, BNK plans to collect 300 million won and deliver it to earthquake victims through a ‘matching grant’ method in which the same amount is added. The fundraising period, which started on the 20th, runs until the 15th of the following month. In addition, until the end of June, customers sending money to Turkey to help earthquake victims and customers of Turkish nationality sending money to their home country will be fully exempted from remittance fees.

Haeundae-gu and Haeundae-gu council decided to provide 100,000 dollars (approximately 126 million won) by urgently organizing a reserve fund to help victims of the earthquake in Turkey.
