In the territory of construction and home renovations there are usually several arguments and setbacks, however the builders’ viral story on TikTok has garnered attention for the brutality of the procedure as they have achieved the impossible: cover the exit of a neighbor’s house with a hollow brick wall.

The video has six million views and features some bricklayers who have built a house by covering the neighbor’s door and window with bricks.

All of this happened in Peru. According to user Franklin Peña Ayala’s account, who shared the build sequence in his account @ franklintk030621

Neighbor war on TikTok

The images confirm that the Peruvian neighbors do not have an apparently not very good relationship with their neighbor, who built his house in an “inappropriate” way.

“Like when your neighbor thought you’d never build your own house” is the title of the viral TikTok video, which shows Franklin’s neighbor putting up a door and a window, blocking the way, no less.

ANDIn the pictures you see two masons putting bricks where the door and window are until they are covered up and useless. There is no doubt that the relationship between these neighbors will get worse.

I can understand a window there, but a door?”, “Make them one more floor up so they can learn” and “Hello neighbor, goodbye neighbor”, are some of the comments that garnered the most “Likes” adding up to more than 180,000 hearts.

What is TikTok

It is the evolution of Musical.ly, a music app for teenagers from the Chinese tech company bytedance purchased at the end of 2017 for about 1,000 million dollars, the same amount that Facebook had paid for Instagram five years earlier.

In August 2018, he merged this already quite popular platform in the US with Douyin (the name adopted by TikTok in China). Since then, its users have been in the millions worldwide and everything indicates that the social network will continue to grow.

Most of the content on TikTok is “playback” or choreography of the most popular songs of the moment.

Clips that are often recorded single-handed, selfie-style, and peppered with a wide variety of filters, ‘stickers’ and effects.

One of the strengths of the platform is its easy integration into other “mainstream” social networks such as YouTube or Instagram, which multiplies its reach.

“The contents are trivial, frivolous, absolutely harmless,” explains Ferran Lalueza, professor of Communication at the UOC. But at the same time it is a “new, fresh, fun and intuitive social network, which is why it is very attractive to teenagers,” adds the researcher.
