A British woman with a maniacal obsession with a serial killer has been sentenced to life in prison for killing her boyfriend.

On the 23rd (local time), British local media such as the BBC said, “Shaye Grove, who murdered her boyfriend Frankie Fitzgerald after obtaining information from a crime documentary, has been convicted.” Reported.

Grove usually watched crime documentaries and showed an obsession by making a picture of a serial killer introduced in the documentary into a frame and hanging it on the wall. He was also reported to have taken an interest in books about notorious criminals such as Charles Bronx.

Grove, based on knowledge gained from watching the documentary, claimed that she had been sexually assaulted after killing Fitzgerald at her home on July 17 last year.

Grove argued at trial that Fitzgerald “accidentally stabbed him after discovering that he had sent a message to a 13-year-old girl on Facebook.” However, the judge in charge did not accept this. In fact, the girl in question was 17 years old, and Fitzgerald immediately blocked her when he found out.

Sexual intercourse videos claimed to be evidence of sexual assault were also found to be fabricated. Grove appealed for damage by editing a video of consensual sex to appear to have been raped and sending it to a friend of hers. He made a video call to his friend and he informed them that he had committed the murder, even showing them the scene of the crime.

British prosecutors said the original video confirmed that the sex was consensual. At the same time, he pointed out that “the accused read crime-related books and watched murder documentaries and was well aware of the crime scene and how to create a false alibi.”

The judge said Grove was “a cunning, possessive and jealous woman” and “acted impulsively and killed the man she loved.”

The victim’s father, Barry Fitzgerald, told the court, “I’m still very sad and I’m not sure I can get over this.”
