Then, when the commanding officer gave the order to fire, Guiyang’s main and secondary guns fired at the target simultaneously and hit the target.

In addition, Guiyang intercepted a sudden missile threat and successfully intercepted the target in the air by launching a jamming bomb.

In the drills that continued every day, the Guiyang conducted practical training targeting the operational demand, and focused on the performance of the weapons equipment mounted on the warship and the feasibility of the operational plan.

In addition, command procedures and combat readiness have been improved, and the level of joint response of weapons platforms has been continuously improved, the media emphasized.

Captain Zhao Xuetao (趙學濤) of the Guiyang ship said, “In this exercise, we focused on high-level tactics to hone the crew’s ability to respond to emergencies and combat power as much as possible.”

Previously, the Chinese military held military exercises in the northern waters of the West Sea near the Liaodong Peninsula from the 13th to the 17th.

At that time, the Liaoning Provincial Maritime Administration banned ships from entering the West Sea near the Liaodong Peninsula, saying that the Chinese military was conducting live ammunition training from 8:00 am on the 13th to 4:00 pm on the 17th.

The restricted area is the waters 45 km southwest of the Liaodong Peninsula, specifically the waters connecting the four starting points of 38-38N122-12E, 38-38N122-17E, 38-35N122-17E, and 38-35N122-12E.

The Chinese Army also sent 38-51.7N121-38.2E, 38-34.2N121-38.2E, 38-33.9N121-07.9E, 38-48.2N121- from 4pm on the 12th to 12pm on the 6th and 12pm on the 24th. Training was developed in the sea area connecting the four origins of 14.1E.

The Chinese military conducted live ammunition drills in the Bohai Strait every day from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. from December 29 to 30 last year.

On December 14-15, the PLA also conducted exercises in parts of the Bohai Sea from 8:00 am to 8:20 pm daily.

Recently, the Chinese military has significantly increased the frequency of drills in the middle waters of the West Sea, where the maritime boundary has not been finalized.

In the case of last year, it was close to 20 times. This is much more than the Moon Jae-in administration, which was only three times in five years.

Chinese military drills in the middle waters of the West Sea increased from about five in 2017 and 2018 to less than 10 in 2019, and again surged in three years.
