The actress Courtney Cox yesterday inaugurated his star in Hollywood Walk of Fame accompanied by her colleagues from the series “Friends”, Jennifer Aniston and Lisa Kudrow.
“Thanks to Courtney we managed to create one of the closest, most tender and most loved casts in the history of television,” Kudrow said of his partner, during a hasty ceremony in which there were some technical audio problems.
Cox, who confessed to hating public speaking, took to the floor to thank all the friends in attendance and the people who had furthered his career. Beside him, Aniston began to cry with emotion.
He explained that his real start in the acting field was not in the famous video clip of “Dancing in the Dark” by Bruce Springsteen, 1984, as everyone thought, but it was at the age of 12 that he landed a role in his high school comedy ‘The King and I’.
Cox’s career success came with the series “Family Ties” (1987), and since then had already been a part of such TV shows as ‘Misfits On Science’ (1985) and ‘The Love Boat’ (1986).
In 1994 he presented himself to the “casting” for the role of Rachel Green from “Friends,” but ultimately ended up bringing perfectionist chef Monica Geller to life, a character that would give her the biggest success of her career.
“I was very nervous about meeting her, I was a huge fan, I was panicking and didn’t know what to do. Courteney was the only famous one of the entire cast, and she was the one who made it clear that the cast would represent a real group of friends“Aniston explained.
They were also present at the event her partner, musician Johnny McDaid; daughter of her, Coco Arquette, and actress Laura Dern.
The latter emphasized in her speech that her “sister” was “the very personification of what a real shining star“.
Among Cox’s latest acting work are television series “Shining Valley”and the films “Scream VI” and “Last Chance U”, projects in which she also served as a producer.
His career is also framed by works as director of series such as “Cougar Town” (2014), and films “Just Before I Go” (2014) and “TalhotBlond” (2012). EFE extension
