Tom Cruise can’t go anywhere without being recognized, that’s for sure. But he doesn’t see it that way. The actor recently told the Jimmy Kimmel show that he occasionally rides public transport and goes to the movies like everyone else.
How do you go unnoticed? The actor hides better than Superman, but that’s all … Tom said that whenever he wants to see a movie in the audience or travel on public transport he uses … a baseball cap.
“Sometimes they see me. When I’m sitting next to them, they look at me. I take some pictures and sign some autographs,” he said in conversation with Kimmel.
The actor told a curious anecdote that the other party involved will surely never forget. One day, a young woman recognized him on the London Underground and he put his forefinger to her mouth as if jokingly suggesting that she keep her secret so that the carriage would not riot at her presence.
This idea of watching movies with “regular” people goes hand in hand with his crusade against platform releases. Cruise makes movies for theaters, to be seen exclusively in theaters, and defends him to the death.
In Top Gun: Maverick, his latest big hit, Tom said, “The movie is made for the big screen. We made it for the theaters, me, my friends, the whole team.”
“I’ve always wanted to travel the world, so when I started making films, I was able to see her in other countries, so I always go with other viewers, I also see her films with them. When I make a movie, I want to go see it with people,” she added.
Maverick, an event
The sequel to 1986’s Top Gun, Cruise returns to interpret one of his most symbolic characters. The story covers the events of a complicated mission that Maverick and his new disciples have to complete.
The furor over the film was reflected in the numbers: With $1,488,732,821 raised, Top Gun finished 2022 as the top-grossing film of the year. Sure: another 2022 release, Avatar: Water Trail, surpassed it as early as 2023.
As, Maverick became one of three in 2022 to cross the $1 billion mark. The others are the aforementioned Avatar and Jurassic World: Dominion.
In turn, the production was nominated 6 categories of the Oscars 2023including that of Best Movie.
Currently, Top Gun: Maverick can be seen in Argentina on Paramount Plus and Star Plus.
