Pain or relief?: Kiska, the saddest and most tortured orca in the world, has died

Once again there is discussion about animals that are in captivity and in conditions they clearly refuse, that’s what happened to KiskaTHE killer whale saddest man who went mad for 11 years in solitary captivity in Canada. Yesterday, finally, he died.

Kiska was an infamous orca at the time she was in captivity MarineLand, an aquarium in Ontario (Canada), under conditions that animal rights activists have described as “amounting to torture”.

The TMZ.com site reported that the whale’s death occurred yesterday and was reported by MarineLand. The theme park said in a statement, “The Marine Mammal Care Team and experts at MarineLand they did their best to support Kiska’s comfort and they will mourn their loss.”

In 2021, a terrible video of Kiska had gone viral relentlessly banging his head against the wall of the aquarium and the images had caused a sensation on social media.

The images were released by the Canadian activist phil demerswho worked in the park.

“This video was shot on September 4, 2021. Anti-captivity activists then entered MarineLand and observed Kiska, his last surviving killer whale, banging his head against the wall. Watch it and share it. This cruelty must stop.” Demers wrote on Twitter.

The orca had been born off the coast of Iceland and had been in captivity since 1979. Since 2011 she was alone in the tub, having outlived her companions, including her five young. For this reason, internationally she was known as “the world’s loneliest killer whale”.

Kiska has had five puppies in her eleven years confined.

The Orca Rescues Foundation said: “For more than 40 years, she has suffered the loss of her freedom, her babies and all of her tank mates. For the past 10 years she has been in complete social isolation from others of her species. That’s what loneliness and captivity did to him.”
