A British murderer in his 20s returned drunk to the crime scene and taunted police.
The British Daily Star reported on the 15th (local time) that Marek Heco (26), who murdered Adrian Ellingford (44), was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum of 26 years in prison. In body cams released by police, Heco returned to the crime scene drunk and provoked officers.
In July of last year, Ellingford was found stabbed in his home in Chelmsford, England. He died at the scene from a wound to his chest.
Local police, who were called to the scene, investigated the scene and began taking statements from neighbors. But then, a man holding a large bottle of brandy approached a police officer guarding the crime scene. The drunk man made a bombshell statement to the police, saying, “I know what happened.” The man’s identity was Marek Heko, a nearby resident.
When the police, suspicious of the man, asked for his name, Heco said, “I will not give it out. The police will never know what happened without me.” Afterwards, Heco uttered gibberish: “I saw a man commit murder,” “I don’t really know what happened,” and “This city belongs to me.”
The police identified Heco as the prime suspect and proceeded with an immediate investigation. The results of the investigation were shocking. Heco was in a romantic relationship with Adrian’s wife. Adrian’s wife, whose name is unknown, broke off her relationship with Heco, who used to habitually take drugs, in April of last year, but Heco became obsessed with Adrian’s wife and visited her work and home constantly. The court found that Heco, who had broken into her home and was possessed by obsessive jealousy, stabbed Ellingford twice with a weapon she had seized from the kitchen.
On the 14th, Heco, who was tried by a jury immediately after his arrest, was sentenced to life in prison with a minimum of 26 years in prison. It is known that it took less than a day for the jury to reach its verdict.
