A British romanticist met at a bus stop and set up a ‘fake timetable’ with a confession message to propose to his girlfriend of seven years.

On the 17th (local time), the British Daily Mirror introduced a love story tangled in a ‘fake timetable’ installed at a bus stop near London’s King’s Cross Station. Lori O’Keeffe (32), who met her girlfriend Charlotte Amy (33) at the stop seven years ago, thought that she should propose to her at the bus stop, the place where the two first met.

Rory initially intended to set up an entire fake bus stop for Charlotte, but soon decided that it would be much more “movie-like” if the couple proposed at the same stop where they actually met. Laurie asked Traff, who was good at photoshop, to create a fake bus timetable from London Archway to London Bridge. The timetable says, ‘Charlotte, we met at this bus stop seven years ago. Will you marry me now?’ was written. The name of the bus route was ‘Bus to the Future’.

On the day of the marriage proposal, Lori, who naturally took Charlotte to the stop where the timetable was set up, asked to confirm ‘what bus they were going to take when they first met 7 years ago’ as if passing by. Charlotte, whose memory was fuzzy, looked at her fake timetable and she tried to figure out the route, but she soon noticed that the bus timetable was a bit odd. In front of her Charlotte, who turned to find her Rory, was her boyfriend of seven years, on one knee, holding her ring. Charlotte smiled broadly and accepted her proposal.

The story of the two became widely known when Nuala McGovern, a radio program host of the British broadcasting station BBC, discovered a ‘fake sign’ that had not been removed after the proposal and shared it on personal social media. The post is currently receiving a lot of attention, recording more than 3 million views. One netizen even joked, “This is why people ask me when the bus will come when they go to that stop.”

The couple will marry at a North London wedding venue later this year, and a sign with their story is said to still remain at the King’s Cross bus stop.
