There was some discussion whether both powers were allies, it is now clear there is a step up. Represents strategic partners the greatest union and confirms the will to implement the project of a Global Security Initiative, proposed by the Chinese diplomacy, which it represents a challenge to American world domination.

The landscape of the struggle between the great world powers has been clarified, and an ominous thrill cannot be avoided.

The Chinese refusal to approve the Russian invasion of Ukraine has allowed Xi Jinping to hold off the hypothesis that Moscow could give a push in the right direction. at least a ceasefire or to talks to promote negotiations. Vain illusions, to tell the truth that they were fading.

The United States flatly denied any possibility of a Chinese peace initiative. Putin also made it clear that he did not agree to negotiate their territorial conquests. And the Ukrainians said that before negotiating anything, Russia should do it withdraw totally.

Now the official statement of “strategic partners” puts the Ukrainian war on background. Xi’s trip to Moscow showed that the top priority is the alliance between the two powers.

A strategic partner cannot take seriously a mediation initiative carried out by the other partner.

Furthermore, China never released nor covertly berating the Russians for the bloody results of their invasion under the guise of “Special Operations”.

In this sense, the Chinese have always defined war as “crisis” or “conflict”.

The economic priority

Xi and Putin are focused on how to strengthen a bloc opposed to the West and on economic agreements between Russia and China, which also institutionalize the Chinese currency as a trading currency instead of the dollar.

The Russians highlighted the annual trading “boom” they are reaching for 200 billion dollars.

But the Chinese revealed a a little anxious for giving new impetus to relations with European countries, after the main allies of the United States led the way in trade with China last year, reaching 800 billion dollars.

The United States, despite the sanctions it approved years ago against China, confirmed itself as a fundamental partner in 2022 with trade for 690 billion.

For China, these data indicate the need for a path that is not interrupted by clashes with Westerners that could damage the expansion of the silk roads and world trade that China needs to always be open and without collisions.

The prolongation of the war in Ukraine actually got a boost from Xi’s visit to Moscow, demolish expectations to straighten the conflict somehow through diplomatic channels.

Now the unknown is how and when China will be able to do it fraternally influence the Chinese strategic partner which has exhausted the propaganda weapon of its peace initiative which sounded like an attempt at mediation.

For China, this is a role that has its hardships. It is no longer possible to go off on a tangent by demonstrating that her stance against Putin’s decision to invade Ukraine keeps her as a moderating alternative to the other protagonists faced in the war with Russia.

Being a strategic partner allows rivals to shout that the king is bare in his true intentions. There is no mediation valueat least until events occur, probably terrible, that drastically change perspectives.

As well as Mambrú china has entered the warvia Moscow.
