Recently, Italian regulators launched a related investigation after Italian teenagers posted a series of videos of themselves scratching their faces on the Chinese video-sharing platform ‘TikTok’.

The ‘French Scar Challenge’ is an act of making artificial scars such as pinching the cheekbones and bursting capillaries under the skin to create band-shaped red bruises and taking a video.

The news agency said, “The challenge was named ‘French Scar Challenge’ in the sense that it represents the violent and rough appearance of French thugs.”

Scars created by this challenge will disappear on their own after a few days, but there are concerns that severe scars may require laser treatment and may remain scars for life.

AGCM launched an investigation into TikTok, believing that it intentionally neglected harmful content that incited young people to self-harm.

AGCM pointed out that “TikTok lacks a proper system for overseeing content posted by third parties.” “The ‘French Scar Challenge’ violates TikTok’s guidelines for removing dangerous content.”

In response, TikTok said, “We have more than 40,000 dedicated safety experts working to keep our communities safe, paying special attention to protecting teens.”

TikTok, the parent company of China’s ByteDance, is gaining popularity among young people as a video sharing platform. However, as cases of users taking dangerous actions to take videos continue to occur, the international community, such as the United States and Europe, is strengthening regulations on TikTok.

In January, a 12-year-old girl died after holding her breath in her room to post a video on TikTok until she passed out. did.
