What are Sugar Daddies or Sugar Mommy
This expression can literally be translated as “sweet dad” or “sweet mom”. It is a form of coexistence in which the person, usually elderly (man or woman), offers money or gifts to another person in exchange for companionship, affection, even if this does not imply or engages in an open exchange of sexual favors. This may or may not happen.
“For example, in Germany, mainly, and in other European countries, hWe have had users for more than 10 years and many of them, have been active ever since (especially sugar daddies),” said Philip Cappelletti, co-founder and CEO of the platform
Cappelletti underlines that the presence of Sugar Daddies in Latin America is giving visibility to this form of relationship beyond prejudice.
“Although a lot has to do with the upbringing and mentality of different cultures, we have noticed that every time these problems of having a sugar daddy or a child are more commented, and we must see it as a lifestyle, not as something negative” added Cappelletti.
Sugar Daddy on social media
It is not strange that it is currently circulating on social networks that influencers, and even public figures, currently see that the so-called “influencers” and public figures openly say that they are in a “Sugar Dating” relationship, i.e. that they have a dad or a child, perhaps it was very discreet before and is now a little more exposed.
“Something we have noticed in Latin America is that many people tend to associate this lifestyle with negative problems. However, the couple is the one who sets the chords of their relationship right from the start. And like in so many other apps to find dates or couples, we have seen users who have found love through our platform,” said Cappelletti.
