The Sisago County Sheriff’s Office shared the man’s “release card” in an official social media post. On the pink card, along with a picture of a criminal with a mustache, “This card can be stored and sold freely. Get out of jail free.” If you are in possession of this card, you can get out of prison freely only once if you happen to be imprisoned while playing Monopoly.

The sheriff’s office wrote in a post, “Last night an anonymous police officer stopped the vehicle. The driver presented this card along with the requested driver’s license. Unfortunately, the state of Minnesota does not recognize this card as a valid document. Still, I want to give credit to the sense of humor and imaginary effort.” A smiling emoticon was posted at the end of the post.

The post drew attention by receiving about 2000 ‘Likes’ in one day. Netizens generally responded favorably. One netizen said, “I wonder how long the driver has had the card. The right end is extremely tattered.” Some netizens questioned whether he was carrying ‘Monopoli money’ to pay fines. Some questioned whether the police had paid a reasonable price (Monopoli money) for the ‘Monopoli Card’.
