The woman who committed the massacre on Monday in a nashville schoolwhere she killed six people before being killed by police, she had left “a suicide note,” police sources said on Tuesday.
“This is basically a suicide note. I hope to die today. You will probably hear from me after I die.” This is the message sent by Audrey Hale, the Nashville killer, to her former basketball partner Patton Averiana at 9.57 in the morning, a few minutes before entering the school and opening fire.
“This is my last goodbye, I love you. See you again in another life,” Hale added, according to local media.
The suspect, identified as Audrey Hale, 28 years oldof Nashville, had a detailed map of the Covenant School and allegedly fired through a locked door to gain entry, before shooting three students and three staff members to death, according to the Nashville Metropolitan Police Department.
The reason remains unknown.
“We have not yet been able to determine a motive. The investigation is still ongoing,” Nashville Metropolitan Police Chief John Drake told ABC News in an interview on “Good Morning America” Tuesday.
The murdered children were identified as Evelyn Dieckhaus, Hallie Scruggs and William Kinney, all aged 9. The deceased adults were identified as 61-year-old substitute teacher Cynthia Peak, 61-year-old caretaker Mike Hill and 60-year-old Katherine Koonce, who was the school principal, according to police.
The shooter it was shot down by the police during the attack.
“Yesterday was a tragic event,” Drake told ABC News.
“I’ve been doing this job for 35 years and I’ve been praying that this never, ever was a day we dealt with“.
The suspect was armed with at least two assault rifles, plus a handgun. At least two of those guns were purchased legally, police said.

Investigators also searched the defendant’s home, where they seized “a sawed-off shotgun, second shotgun and other evidence,” according to a police news release.
About 14 minutes after the first 911 call came in, responding officers shot and killed the suspect in a lobby on the second floor of the school, police said.
Covenant School is for students in kindergarten through sixth grade. There are around 209 students and 40-50 staff members.
Hale was a student at that school once. She then she graduated as a graphic designer and had no criminal record.
The police provided unclear information on the gender of women. For hours, police identified the shooter as a 28-year-old female, eventually identifying the person as Audrey Elizabeth Hale.
Then, at a late afternoon press conference, the police chief said Hale was transgender. After the press conference, police spokesman Don Aaron declined to elaborate on how Hale was currently identified.
