Visa for the United States: how much did the document cost for Latin Americans?

Anyone interested in processing a Visa for the United States they must be attentive to the updates that the government of that country announces, since the US State Department has made it official price increases in the various processes.

This announcement was made about a year ago, but the US government I had not officialized the exact rates. Most of the procedures achieved by this increase are related to the non-immigrant visas and will take effect starting from a specific day, without affecting the requests previously forwarded.

According to the US State Department announcement, all applications were filed on or after May 30, 2023 They will have the updated rate. The visas that will be affected by this increase are mainly those for people who they are not seeking permanent residencebut they visit it for holidays, work, study, among others.

The publication of the updated rates was last made official in the Federal Register March 28, 2023, but will only enter into force from that date. The visas whose prices will be modified are:

  • Tourist visa for tourism or work (B1/B2), exchange or students: its current value is 160 dollars, but from May 30 it will be $185 -$25 more-
  • Visas for non-immigrant temporary workers (include categories H, L, O, P, Q and R: their value today is $ 190, but on the appointed date they will cost 205 dollars.
  • Trader, Investor, and Treaty Seeker Visas in Special Occupation (this is Category E): Current value is $205, but will cost more $315i.e. $110 more.
