Swimming instructor for children nikki scarred She has already added more than 5 million views to a video she uploaded to TikTok in which she does parenting a very special recommendation.
Scarnati advises adults not to buy blue swimsuits for children for one important reason: Don’t confuse them with water. Scarnati says kids wearing blue overalls may be too camouflaged to need to be rescued in the event of an accident.
To demonstrate that children are advised not to wear swimwear that matches the water, Scarnati filmed his young daughter swimming in a pool wearing a blue onesie.
In the video you can see the girl’s head, but sometimes the body gets lost in the depths of the pond. In this way, the teacher from Tennessee, USA, says that it is very difficult for her to see her daughter in the water because she is “the same color as our surroundings”.
“That’s why you don’t put your kids in blue bathing suits. See how hard it is to see her underwater. And this is in calm waters. This is not with a bunch of other kids playing and splashing around and having fun,” she says.
To solve the problem, Nikki recommended that parents buy sparkly bathing suits so that children can distinguish themselves better when swimming.
According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, drowning is the second leading cause of death from unintentional injury in children ages 0-17 and the leading cause in children ages 1-4.
Why is swimming important for children?
For children, swimming can be an interesting and necessary approach to the sport. Unlike other activities, this one can start very early, since from six months the little ones can start playing in the water and learn to swim.
Babies are born after spending nine months in the womb in a watery environment. Therefore, if they start swimming before the age of two, achieve much faster adaptation to the environment. Until that age they learn to swim together with their mother and/or father which allows for a positive and enjoyable bonding interaction.
Furthermore, swimming is one of the most complete sports disciplines because it works the entire muscular system, the cardiorespiratory system and motor coordination. And while in other sports the probability of getting injured is high, in swimming the risk is very low.
On the other hand, it is very advantageous in terms of safety, since those who know how to swim run less risk when entering the sea, for example.
In the summer (during holidays, recreational camps, pool gatherings), children are exposed to situations that could be very dangerous if they don’t have at least some basic tools to work in the water.
