Governor Kim emphasized this in an article posted on his Facebook page that day, saying, “Michigan, the heart of the US mobility industry, and Gyeonggi-do discussed ways to strengthen the innovation alliance.”

Governor Kim said, “I met the governor of Michigan, a sister state of Gyeonggi-do. Governor Gretchen Whitmer is an influential person who is considered one of the Democratic presidential candidates. “Governor Whitmer pointed to the blue and yellow clothes she wore and gave her last name that she deliberately wore the colors of the school I attended,” she said.

“As part of that, we decided to make joint efforts to cooperate with Korean companies in Gyeonggi-do in the fields of electric vehicles, batteries, semiconductors, and new and renewable energy. The Gyeonggi-do delegation headed by Governor Kim is visiting major cities in the US and Japan for 11 days from the 9th to the 19th with the goal of attracting foreign investment, expanding youth opportunities, and establishing an innovative alliance. This is the first overseas visit since taking office.
