Former President Donald Trump (76) said he would not resign from the 2024 US presidential election even if the court found him guilty in the so-called “silencing sexual scandal” case.

According to The Hill, a US political media outlet, on the 11th (local time), former President Trump answered a related question in a Fox News interview aired that day, “No. “(Resignation) is not my way,” he said.

Manhattan prosecutors in New York indicted former President Trump on 34 charges, claiming that former President Trump gave money to three partners, including porn star Stormy Daniels, to cover up an extramarital affair and fabricated accounting books related to it.

Former President Trump’s next trial date has been set for December 4th. The formal trial is expected to begin in earnest early next year.

Former President Trump has completely denied the allegations against him. He criticized Manhattan District Attorney Alan Bragg for politically motivated investigations into the case.

In an interview that day, he was asked about running for re-election to President Joe Biden.

Former President Trump said, “I heard his (President Biden’s) answer on TV. It was an answer about eggs and whatnot,” he said. “I don’t think he’s going to run.”

Trump’s remarks appear to have taken issue with Biden’s age.

In the last presidential election, Trump persistently made his age an issue, attacking Biden as “sleepy Joe.”

Biden is the oldest president in US history. If he succeeds in his re-election, he will serve an eight-year term and at the time of his resignation he will be 86 years old.

Biden appeared on NBC’s “Today Show” ahead of the “Easter Egg Roll,” an egg-rolling event at the White House the day before.

“I plan to run (for president), but we are not ready to announce it yet,” he said.
