The furore over dollar bills and million dollar coins continues. On specialized sites, new relics are constantly appearing which can change the lives of their happy owners.

THE old coins are among these highly sought after specimens. Although, for their interest and economic value to skyrocket, they have to follow certain parameters.

Between them, There must be few copies in circulation, have some printing errors or very particular serial numbers.

When these requirements are met, collectors are willing to pay big bucks. Here is a summary of the most sought after and eccentric units.

1870-S Seated Liberty Dollar

One of the real tricky figurines. Only 12 copies are known and nine are believed to have been in circulation. In 2003, one of them sold for $1,092,000.

1885 dollars

Also very rare and with superlative prices. In 2019, in Florida, one of the few known units sold for $3,960,000. Others were auctioned off for US$1,000,000.

They have a seated figure of Liberty on the obverse and an eagle on the reverse.

1804 dollars

They have some errors which trigger their attractiveness and market price.

Most Wanted: Those minted in 1834 and 1957 that have a rust dot to the left of the figure. Or the ultra-hard option, which dates back to 1857 and has a smooth edge.

Their quotations can reach 7,680,000 USD.

1922 Peace Dollar

Finding a copy would be a real find and a stroke of luck. What are they looking for? Those printed with errors in the letters of the phrase “In God We Trust”. It is estimated that numismatic specialists would be willing to pay half a million dollars.
