He stabbed a dog to death and was sentenced to 18 months in prison

A man was sentenced to 18 months in prison for killing a dog with seven stab wounds. Miguel David Jojoa Rodríguez killed the mascot on May 1 last year. In an unprecedented sentence, he was arrested.

Animal abuse has occurred in Pasto, Colombia. According to the local prosecutor, Jojoa and other people were attacking with stones and sticks the property of a neighbor, who broke into her house to shelter from a theft, and when ‘Drako’, the family dog, attempted to break into home, Jojoa Rodríguez attacked him seven times with a knife, resulting in his death.

The man assumed responsibility for the crime of aggravated animal abuse and was sentenced to 18 months in prison and to pay a fine equal to 18.75 of the current legal monthly minimum wage.

The second case of ill-treatment and conviction was that of “Tigre”. The events took place on April 21, 2022. The investigation found that the murdered dog fought with James Alexis Chagres’ pet Torres, who in an act of intolerance attacked “Tiger”. The dog suffered a deep cut to his spine.

Unfortunately, vets performed humane euthanasia on Tigre. Chagres Torres was sentenced to 20 months in prison for the crime of aggravated animal abuse.
