Carlota Prado was abused in Spain’s Big Brother by Juan María López

The Criminal Court 18 of Madrid sentenced José María López to 15 months in prison as the perpetrator responsible for a consummate crime of sexual abuse against Carlota Prado committed during the participation of both of them in the reality show broadcast by the Telecinco network, called Big Brother Revolution, in the early morning of November 4, 2017. Chronology

14 hours after the alleged abuse, Carlota and José María woke up together, like every day. They were locked up and isolated from real life for about a month and a half. At the time of after dinner November 5, 2017, Big Brother calls José María and automatically throws him out of the house. Then Carlota is called to the confessional.

Without warning, they play the video of the alleged abuse. This moment is recorded and made with different shots and ‘zooms’, describing his suffering in detail. From when they put the images to when they enter the confessional to assist her, about 10 minutes pass. During this time, she can’t believe what she sees, fluctuating through various moods. He suffers from an anxiety attack that prevents him from breathing normally e He asks to leave that room, which is not granted. Furthermore, they ask him not to leave this problem for the sake of him and that of José María.

Spanish newspaper El Confidencial has published a 75-second excerpt demonstrating how the TV program failed to protect the victim. According to the media, the dissemination of hardcore material had the approval of Carlota Prado herself.

The harsh images were part of the judicial process that has just concluded.

The judge considers it proven that the defendant “guided by a libidinous spirit, knowing that Carlota was under the effects of an ethyl torpor which would then lead her to unconsciousness, took off her trousers – when both were occupying the same bed -, and he began to make movements of a sexual nature under the duvet, despite the victim weakly telling him ‘I can’t’.

The resolution also claims that “despite the fact that the defendant asked her several times to open her eyes, Carlota remained motionless, and when she asked how she was feeling, she only managed to answer that she had to go out, at which point she turned and fell unconscious.The obscene movements of the condemned person continued for several more minutes, until the victim uncovered his face and arm and revealed his state of inertia, which led to the intervention of one of the members of the program in charge of viewing the recording, to whom to indicate what stopped the situation.Carlota, at that moment, vomited and was completely stunned.

The ruling states that “the recordings were shown to the victim the following morning, in an isolated room, where Carlota was alone and with no other company than the voiceover of the person known as ‘Super’, without any preparation of what would be shown, without prior assistance as to what should have been shown and without any contractual clause governing the procedure in such circumstances”.
