A 10-year-old female student in the United States was shot while trying to get into someone else’s car as her own. This is the third similar shooting in a week.
According to CNN on the 19th (local time), around midnight on the 17th, two cheerleading girls were shot in the parking lot of the HEB supermarket in Elgin, Texas.
These students, who belong to the Woodland Elite Cheer Company, were beaten up on their way home late at night after finishing their schedule.
The parking lot where the incident occurred was where they stayed as a ‘carpool’ place. It is a method of driving a long distance in one car after each person arrives here in the morning and parks.
One of the four students (Heather Ross) who returned from the schedule that day opened the door she thought was her car, and then hurried back to the ‘carpool’ car when another man was sitting there.
Then, the man in the car in question got out of the car and approached the car with four cheerleaders. Ross, who was in the car, lowered the window to apologize, when the man suddenly raised his gun and opened fire.
The man fired about five shots, and Ross and an 18-year-old colleague (Peyton Washington) were shot. Ross suffered only grazed abrasions, but Washington was shot in the back and leg and was in critical condition.
Washington vomited blood when he was shot, Ross explained. Washington is rushed to the hospital by his helicopter, but is in critical condition.
The shooter, who fled the scene after shooting, was arrested by the police the next morning (18th). The man was identified as 25-year-old Pedro Tello Rodriguez. He was detained on a felony charge of third-degree murder. His motive for the crime is unknown.
The ‘Woodland Elite Cheer Company’ posted on its official Facebook page, “Last night on the way home from practice, four of our female students suffered a horrific incident. Please pray for the victims.”
In the United States, in the past few days, there have been three incidents of shooting at opponents who accidentally approached.
On the 13th, a 16-year-old African-American boy who went out to pick up his brother on an errand for his parents in Kansas City, Missouri, accidentally went to the wrong house and was shot by the 84-year-old landlord.
On the 15th, a 20-year-old woman who got lost while driving in a luxury residential area in New York entered the road in front of a house and was shot dead by the 65-year-old landlord as she tried to turn around.
