Every single day in the United States, there are frequent shootings at people who accidentally access their private areas.
This time, a 6-year-old and his parents were shot as they went to pick up a ball in a neighbor’s yard.
According to CNN and ABC on the 21st (local time), on the 18th, a 6-year-old girl was shot in a neighbor’s house in Gaston, North Carolina, USA. It all started when the basketball she was playing with her parents rolled into the neighbor’s yard.
When the child went into the neighbor’s yard to get the ball, the landlord screamed, and when the girl’s father protested, the man reportedly came out with a gun and opened fire. The landlord opened fire indiscriminately at four people, including the girl, her parents, and another neighbor.
The girl was hit in the face and had her cheek sewn up, while her father was shot in the back and his lungs and liver were damaged. She is currently in critical condition. Her mother also injured her elbow. One other neighbor was not hurt.
In an interview with ABC, the daughter sobbed, “Why did you shoot my dad?”
Robert Singletary (24), who fired the gunman, went to the local sheriff’s office on the 20th and turned himself in. He faces four counts of attempted murder, two counts of assault with a deadly weapon and one count of possession of a felony firearm.
Residents testified that Singletary moved into the area a few weeks ago and screamed whenever children approached her home.
In the United States, there have been four cases of shootings for similar reasons in the past week alone.
On the 13th, in Kansas City, Missouri, a 16-year-old boy who was on an errand for his parents was shot and seriously injured by his 84-year-old landlord after accidentally ringing the doorbell at another house.
In Hebron, New York, on the 15th, a woman in her 20s who entered the wrong garage driveway while looking for a friend’s house was shot and killed by the 65-year-old landlord.
On the 19th, in a parking lot in Elgin, Texas, a teenage cheerleader and a friend were shot and seriously injured by accidentally opening someone else’s car door.
