It’s not so uncommon for films or series to let slip the occasional editing slip. Yes it is strange, and very strange, that many of us probably did not notice it after seeing the work in question dozens of times.
loyal fan of Gladiatorin this case we are almost forced to realize that there are two errors (one of which, literally) in one of the most famous sequences of Ridley Scott’s film.
In one of the many arena battles in which Maximus fights before the eyes of Commodus, two details they appear as cars wreak havoc on the stage.
In the film’s timeline, the first one occurs in hour 26 minutes and 24 seconds. In a fleeting shot lasting almost a second – and for this reason we probably won’t see them – on the left edge of the shot appear two soles of black shoes clearly anachronistic compared to the time narrated in the film.
Apparently, Ridley and company didn’t hide well one of the film’s technicians, who was there to operate a camera, make sounds or control a light. Strange, isn’t it?
The second detail appears in the hour 26 minutes and 36 secondswhen a car is hit by one of the characters.
On another plane that gets in and out in the blink of an eye, a petrol tank is visible that he was definitely driving one of the vehicles at the scene. We anticipated it: a “garrafal” mistake.
This is easily verified if you have the film on hand. Gladiator, which won several Academy Awards, including Best Picture and Best Actor for Russell Crowe, is available in Argentina on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
The famous Jurassic Park mistake
In recent months it was news that a fan had discovered a mistake in one of the most famous films of the last decades: Jurassic Park. Yes, 27 years later, a “NN” dismissed that even titanic productions like this sometimes fail.
This person posted the bug on Reddit and confessed to discovering it after watching the movie about eleven times.
What is going on? In the scene where a dinosaur opens the door to enter the kitchen and stands there, you can see how a member of production, especially an operator, extends his hand to queue.
Considering that the film Jurassic Park was created with the combination of CGI (computer-generated imagery) and operator-controlled dolls, a pioneering technology at the time, it is not surprising that some details have gone completely unnoticed.
So much so that the error remained hidden for nearly 30 years.
