A Republican state senator from Minnesota, USA, has become an unwitting social media star after voting in his skin, lying on his bed during what should have been a routine session of a legislative committee.
In a video streamed live on YouTube, Republican Senator Calvin Bahr of East Bethel can be seen voting on Zoom with an “I’m Just a Bill” School House Rock cartoon as the backdrop behind him.
After voting, Bahr quickly turned off the camera and left his screen space blank with only his name.
A Senate Republican spokeswoman said Bahr he’s a truck driver who worked until 04:45 in the morning and then went to bed before filming. He said Bahr would not comment on the vote or the video image, according to The Minneapolis Star Tribune newspaper.
The video caused various memes and social repercussions until the comments were disabled.
