Just two days after the shooting at a Belgrade school that left nine dead, Serbia was the scene of another armed confrontation. In this opportunity, a 21-year-old teenager killed eight people and wounded 14 others in the rural municipality of dubonne, near the city of Mladenovac and 60 kilometers from the Serbian capital. The attacker was arrested in the early hours of this Friday.
“After an extensive search, members of the Interior Ministry were arrested UB, born in 2002 in Kragujevac regionin central Serbia,” the authorities said in an official statement.
And they added: “He is suspected of having killed eight people with an automatic weapon and injured 14 others, all of whom have been hospitalized”.

Police helicopters flew over Dubona, where the shooting took place. From 600 agents were deployed to the scene, including members of the counter-terrorism unit patrolling the highway.

For his part, the Minister of Health, Danica Grjucicvisited the emergency medical center in Belgrade where at least eight of the people injured in the attack were taken.
Meanwhile, the Interior Minister, Bratislav Gasiche described the crime as “terrorist act“.

Authorities have identified the suspect as Kosta Kecmanovica student aged between 13 and 14, who was found in the schoolyard and arrested, saying that he was armed with two pistolsone in his backpack and another he was wearing.
