Police said the alleged meteorite entered through the roof of the house and destroyed the wooden floor when it hit. “It seems that whatever came from the sky fell through the roof of the upper window which is my father’s room.said the resident Suzy kop at CBS.

Kop thought someone had thrown a rock at his house until he saw the object up close and noticed it was “Heat”.

“We think it’s a meteorite. It went through here, hit the floor here because it’s completely damaged, bounced off this part of the ceiling and finally landed on the floor.”

Luckily, no family members were injured.

“Possible Radioactivity”

In any case, the emergency services rushed to the scene residents were scanned for possible radioactivity.

The HTPD believes the object may have something to do with the current meteor shower. Eta Aquariidswhich peaked over the weekend, NJ Advance Media reported.

The Eta Aquariids rain occurs every year between April 19 and May 28, when the Earth passes through the debris of Halley’s Comet.

Background

“A metallic meteorite is easier to identify in the field, while a stony one may be more difficult for someone who has no experience identifying these extraterrestrial objects,” explained the curator. Myles Felch at the post office.

“Depending on the composition of the meteorite, it may be harder or easier to find”, added the specialist.

It is not known whether the Kop family will receive a reward for the found item.
