One is a hairdresser, the other a police officer. Giuseppe Pezzuto, a 29-year-old hairdresser, and Angelo Orlando, a 39-year-old military sniper. They got married in a stunning ceremony on May 8 in Brindisi, Italy.
The spectacular ceremony is historic: it was the first time that a soldier married his partner, wearing the official uniform.
Angelo Orlando and Giuseppe Pezzuto are from Puglia. They lived in Rome for a long time, but they returned to Puglia to say “yes”. The date chosen for their union, May 8, was not accidental: that same day, about 60 years ago, Orlando’s parents got married. They live no more, but their son took them with him, wearing the covenants of both in his hand.
They performed a spectacular guard of honor, a saber bridge and wore gala uniforms.
The two went through the tunnel of crossed swords in the air that the military made Angelo’s colleagues to celebrate the bond with this champion paid homage to their colleague, assuring him that the couple could count on the “friendship” of the Italian soldiers.
A splendid way to make Angelo feel all his closeness in the most important moment, demonstrating that the carabinieri are far ahead of an intolerant society. “Italy is not just hate and discrimination, as the newspapers sometimes tend to make us believe, it is also love and the fulfillment of a dream, which until recently seemed impossible to achieve. Good luck and good life to the bride and groom, always holding hands, I love you”, said Monica Pietropaolo, the hostess.
