The Korea TOEIC Committee under YBM announced last year that Korea’s average score was 675 (out of 990) among TOEIC countries around the world, ranking 13th out of 41 countries and 4th in Asian countries.
Although the 2022 performance decreased slightly from 2021 (679 points), the ranking rose by 8 steps (2021, 21st) among countries subject to performance analysis, and 2 steps (2021, 6th) in Asian countries.
According to the analysis data, the average TOEIC score was highest in Germany with 823 points.
2nd place was Lebanon (804 points), 3rd place was Italy (773 points), 4th place was Belgium (771 points), and 5th place was the Philippines and Spain (749 points).
In Asia, Lebanon (804 points) ranked first, followed by △2nd place Philippines (749 points) △3rd place Jordan (686 points) △4th place Korea (675 points) △5th place Myanmar (668 points). In other Asian countries, △Taiwan (568 points) △Japan (561 points) △China (548 points) appeared in order.
As for the age group of TOEIC test takers around the world, △21~25 years old (44.1%) △20 years old or younger (20.6%) △26~30 years old (14.9%), in order, 79.6% of the total were in their 10s to 20s. The gender of test takers was 51.2% male and 48.8% female.
The purpose of taking the TOEIC test was ‘learning’ at 28.9%, followed by △graduation (27.8%) △employment (24.2%) △promotion (10.7%) △measurement of language training performance (8.5%).
