According to the National Assembly Members’ Football Federation on the 12th, 24 members of the ruling and opposition parties departed through Gimpo International Airport on the 13th to attend a friendly soccer game between Korea and Japan. This visit is for 3 days and 2 nights.
In the power of the people, the president of the National Assembly Football Federation, Jeong Jin-seok, 5th, Kim Hak-yong, 4th, Lee Hun-seung, Cho Hae-jin, 3rd term, Kim Seok-gi, Song Seok-jun, Chosun Kang Dae-sik, Kim Seon-gyo, Kim Seung-soo, Kim Hyung-dong, Park Hyung-soo, Bae Jun-young, Bae Hyun-jin, Lee Yong, Lee Ju-hwan, and Jeong Dong-man · 21 members, including Hwang Bo-seung-hee, 2 members, including Kim Young-jin and Kim Seung-nam, from the Democratic Party, and Ryu Ho-jeong, member of the Justice Party, participate.
On the Japanese side, it is known that a total of 23 people, including Chairman Seishiro Eto of the Liberal Democratic Party, will participate.
Representative Jeong Jin-seok, chairman of the Korea-Japan House of Representatives League, will meet with the federation’s leadership, including former Prime Minister Yoshihide Suga, secretary-general Ryota Takeda and chairperson of the standing committee, to hold a meeting. He will also attend a welcome dinner hosted by Hiroyuki Hosoda, chairman of the House of Representatives of Japan.
Lawmakers from the two countries will play on the 13th at Nissan Stadium in Yokohama, Japan, where the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup finals were held.
This match is a reciprocal response to a friendly soccer match held at the World Cup Stadium in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul by Japanese lawmakers who visited Korea in November of last year to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup.
Last year, Korea won 5-3 in the match held amid the strained relationship between Korea and Japan and the novel coronavirus infection (Corona 19).
Rep. Chung said on his Facebook page that day, “I want to help the relationship between the two countries by meeting leaders of the Japanese and political world and sharing ‘soccer friendship’.” I will demonstrate my mental strength and deliver the news of victory without fail.”
