“We want to create a coalition for aircraft and I’m very optimistic about it, we talked about it and I think it will happen very soon, they will know about decisions that I consider very important,” said Zelenski accompanied by Sunak, who declared himself ready to play “a key role in this coalition”.

After visiting Italy, Germany and France, Zelensky made a surprise arrival in the United Kingdom where he met Prime Minister Sunak for two hours, who received him at his country residence in Dama.

At the end of the meeting, Sunak said his country remains “steadfast” in its support for Ukraine and that the delivery of fighter planes is not easy because it requires training Ukrainian pilots and also the logistics to control those planes.

“A topic of conversation we had today is the long-term security issues we need to establish among allied countries to ensure they can defend themselves and provide an effective deterrent against future Russian aggression,” Sunak said.

On western fighters, Zelenskyj stressed that “very important decisions” will soon be made in this regard.

“Today we’re talking about planes. It’s a very important issue for us because we can’t control the sky,” he said.
