In the United States, a teenage boy shot and killed a 30-year-old hamburger restaurant employee who had a quarrel with his party.

According to CNN on the 16th (local time), Keene police in a small town in Johnson County, Texas, said that a 12-year-old boy took out an AR-22 rifle from the parking lot of a hamburger restaurant in the city on the night of the 13th, Matthew Davis ( 32) was found to have been killed.

According to eyewitnesses, a man named Angel Gomes (20), who was with the boy, was urinating near the building of a hamburger shop and ran into store employees, including Davis, and got into a fight. The quarrel turned into a physical clash. At this point, the boy pulled his gun from the vehicle he was riding in and fired at least six rounds.

Police were called to the scene around 9:40 p.m. on the day of the incident and found Davis collapsed at the scene. He was immediately transported to the hospital, but later died. Police did not disclose the identity of the boy who shot the gun, considering that he was a minor.

After the shooting, the boy and Gomez fled the scene. However, Gomes returned to the parking lot of a hamburger shop and was arrested by the police. Police later located the boy and arrested him. It is not yet known what kind of relationship the two have. Both Gomes and the boy have been charged with murder, police said.

According to the GoFundMe donation website, which was opened to pay for Davis’ funeral expenses, Davis was the father of a 10-year-old son.

Keane, where the incident took place, is a small town about 45 miles (about 72 km) from downtown Dallas. Recently, in Allen, a city near Dallas, a man in his 30s opened fire at an outlet shopping mall, killing eight people, including three Korean family members, and injuring seven others.

Since September 2021, Texas has eased regulations so that residents who legally own firearms can carry firearms in public places without issuing a separate license or receiving training, so gunfire accidents are continuing.
