In California, USA, an unfortunate incident occurred when the head of a family helping a ‘duck family’ cross the road was hit by a car and died.
The accident added to the shock as the man’s children and other witnesses filmed and cheered on their cell phones.
According to the New York Post KCRA on the 23rd, the accident occurred at an intersection in Rocklin, California on the afternoon of the 19th.
As the mother duck entered the intersection leading the ducklings, the male driver, Mr. A, got out of his car and led them out of the road safely. It was to protect ducks and prevent traffic jams. Mr. A’s children watched this from the car.
Other drivers waited and stood and watched and clapped. The boy, William, 12, who was watching from the car with his mom, filmed it on his cell phone.
“The guy was really kind and drove the family of ducks, and everyone applauded,” said William. The signal turned green, but no one passed the intersection.”
At the end of the situation, a car suddenly popped out of nowhere and hit Mr. A. The accident was caused by a teenage girl driver.
“All I remember is the sound of him being hit and the sight of him flying across an intersection,” said William. One of his shoes and socks landed in front of our car.”
Another female eyewitness, Peterson, told KCRA, “’Oh, it’s so cute. I was just about to say, ‘I love that guy,’ when he was hit by a car,” she said.
After the accident, William’s mother ran to Mr. A’s children. It’s because I’m worried about the children who witnessed their father’s crash in the car.
Temporary memorial stones, rubber ducks, and flower bouquets are being gathered at the site of the accident.
“He was the only one who got out of the car and tried to help the duck,” said William. He was probably the friendliest person in the area. The world is unfair,” he grieved.
Police are investigating a 17-year-old girl who caused the accident. She has yet to decide which charges to apply and is under investigation without detention.
