He therefore refuted Ukraine’s accusations, believing that Moscow was seeking to destroy Transnistria and preparing its troops in the region for an offensive. At least 1,500 Russian soldiers have been assigned there since 1992, when Transnistria declared itself independent from Moldova. However, no state, including Russia, recognizes the independence of the region.

A series of incidents shook Transnistria this week. On Monday, an official building was the target of a rocket launcher attack. On Tuesday, a radio tower was damaged by two explosions. Then on Wednesday, a village on the Ukrainian border where a Russian ammunition depot was located was flown by drones and then targeted by gunfire from the other side of the border.

These incidents did not result in casualties, but reinforced fears of an overflow in Moldova of the conflict raging in neighboring Ukraine.

Ukraine has also accused Russia of bombing a bridge that crosses the Dniester, the river that separates it from Moldova.

Moscow refused to be considered a state godfather of terrorism

Maria Zakharova took the opportunity to raise the possibility of adding Russia to the US list of state sponsors of terrorism.

This idea was first floated by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a phone meeting with his American counterpart, Joe Biden, about two weeks ago. But he appears to have been gaining traction within the Biden administration over the past few days, according to the BBC.

The idea is tangasaid the Russian spokesman, who also warned the United States that there would be consequences to such a proposal.

" We won’t leave any metric unanswered, of course, and they should understand that. "

As the United States pushes this idea into the minds of the international community, the latter will better remember the crimes committed by Americans.he clarified.

Iran, North Korea and Syria are part of this blacklist.

In addition, Russia regrets that it has still not received a response from Ukraine about its latest proposal for a peace agreement between the two countries, Maria Zakharova recalled.

The two sides met for talks last month in Istanbul, Turkey, with no significant success since then.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said he wants to continue negotiations, even as he accuses Russia of war crimes and genocide and even as it continues to bomb Ukraine.

The Westerners will not prevent Russia’s attack

Concurrent with this defensive rhetoric, the Kremlin spokesman warned Western countries to stop encouraging Ukraine to invade Russia.

" A new provocation for Ukraine to strike at Russian facilities will be met by Russia’s harsh response. "

And Russia will not be deterred from launching retaliatory strikes in Ukraine because Western officials are visiting the country, he added. they not necessarily going to be a problem for Russia’s response measures.
