The Russian Army attacked kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, using missiles on Thursday, as part of the visit of the UN Secretary General, Anthony Guterreswhen he was speaking at a press conference with the president Volodymyr Zelensky.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs of kyiv, Dmytro Kuleba, expressed himself along the same lines. “In this heinous act of barbarism, Russia has once again shown its attitude to Ukraine, Europe and the world,” he reacted, recalling that Bulgarian Prime Minister Kiril Petkov was also in the city.

“In the afternoon, the enemy fired on kyiv. Two attacks in the Chevchenkovsky district,” Mayor Vitali Klitschko confirmed for his part, adding that “information about the victims is being clarified.”

“This is proof that we need a quick victory against Russia and that the whole civilized world must unite around Ukraine. We need to act quickly. Guterres met with the Ukrainian president and lamented that the United Nations Security Council had “failed” to end the war, which began on Feb. 24 with Russia’s aggression.

Hours later, it was reported that Guterres and his entourage in kyiv were “shocked” at the proximity of the bombing, although everyone was “safe”, a UN spokesman said.

“It was a war zone, but surprisingly it happened close to the area where we were,” spokesman Saviano Abreu told AFP, without specifying how far the delegation was from the missile impact areas.

Witnesses to the bombing

In the residential building where one of the projectiles hit, the EFE agency reports, a young woman named Marina Zdanovich, 31, lived with her grandmother and two children, who said that according to her neighbors the house.

Her grandmother, who was inside, was slightly injured, the Spanish news agency learned.

Another projectile fell on a company called Artem, which seemed to have been the target of the attack because it was a missile factory.

A neighbor of the building who left around 9:30 pm local time told Efe that no one was killed. but yes wounded.

“My apartment is completely ruined, only walls and ceiling are left,” explained one of the residents who did not want to give his name.

He was not at home at the time of the explosion, but went in to check on the status of his home.
