The fit influencer from Argentina Melina Moriatis He went out on the streets of Miami to ask several Argentines how much they earn since living in the United States. The compilation video went viral on TikTok, surpassing 4 million views.
“How much do Argentines make in the US?”, asked @melimoriatisfit before heading out to survey his compatriots. All of the people she interviewed lived in different regions of Argentina and have now resided in Miami for at least 5 months.
The first, a waiter, said he’s been in Florida for 5 months and making money in between 3,500 and 4,000 dollars a month. The second, a pastry chef from Tucumán, told of living in the city for 6 months and earning around 1,900 a month. She provided additional information: she pays $900 in rent.
Then, Moriatis asked a group of men who have lived in the North American country the longest.
One of them wins, who is dedicated to marketing and has been in Miami for 4 years 8,000 a month. Another, a sailor who has lived there for 6 or 7 years, earns in between 30 thousand and 40 thousand monthly.
In a second video, the influencer talks to Cachito, an Argentinian who came to Miami to do masonry work and now”it’s on another level”. He revealed that he managed to improve his financial situation from an investment fund and live off commissions.
The reactions
As expected, Moriatis’ TikTok had hundreds of comments. Many of the users who have reacted are Argentines who have not missed the opportunity to participate in the debate on the different salaries earned by their compatriots.
“I don’t believe it. Living in Miami is difficult”, wrote for example one person. “It makes no sense to convert it into pesos. You have to see the cost of living there in dollars,” added another.
Some users, more than satisfied with the yacht seller’s salary, left sentences like: “I’m ready to go to the United States to sell yachts”.
However, there were also deals to earn much less. “On $2,000 a month I’m done,” commented one.
