A Chilean tourist told TikTok about the difficult experience he had during his vacation in Mendoza, Argentina, and it went viral.
Christopher Lopez -this is the name of the user @crislopezlagos- he was with his family traveling around the province when his daughter started having a fever. The desperate situation led López to a public clinic to urgently assist the young woman.
“A few days ago I came for a walk in Mendoza. It turns out that what shouldn’t have happened happened to me. My daughter got sick, she had a high fever, everything was wrong. So we had to take her to the hospital to be treated in the ER,” she begins by telling her.
But since she could not get treatment at the public clinic right away (they gave her a shift for 10 pm), she decided to try her luck in a private clinic. “I had to put my chest under the bullets,” Cristóbal said.
“I was ready to be shredded with the doctor’s bill,” he said, making it clear that he didn’t know at the time that the other way around would happen. His daughter was treated at the Santa María private clinic for 7,000 Argentine pesos.
“I can’t believe the difference in healthcare costs between Chile and Argentina. It’s a pity that everything is so expensive in our country. Health is a fundamental right and we all deserve to receive the best care without it costing us a fortune,” concluded López.
His video has been viewed by more than 200,000 people on TikTok.
a terrific purchase
Along the same lines, the purchase made by a young Chilean in Mendoza also went viral on TikTok. In this case, the woman went to the Argentine province specifically to make a large purchase and take advantage of the exchange rate advantage.
The account owner @CalidadShop_CyK entered Argentina because it is much cheaper for her and her compatriots to shop there.
In the video, @CalidadShop_CyK shows off everything she bought at a Mendoza supermarket with her mates: soap, noodles, deodorant, feminine wipes, alfajores, flour, chocolate milk, shampoo, bleach, dog food and more.
“It should be noted that we spent 5 hours in line at the supermarket to be able to buy. But the people of Mendoza are very kind and with a very good character. It’s worth going, but more days to be able to visit the places in Mendoza,” he recommended in the post description.
And he added the following clarification inside TikTok: “Calculation of goods for about six months for two people and it was distributed to 3 families. That’s better”.
The purchase, made on May 10, cost him 550,000 Chilean pesos. If he had bought the same thing, but in Chile, @CalidadShop_CyK says he would have gotten about “1 million and 1.5 Chilean pesos”. That means, more than double.
