President Biden arrived at Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, around 10:50 a.m. (4:50 p.m. Korean time) on this day. The plane carrying President Biden was originally scheduled to arrive around 10 a.m. on this day, but the landing was delayed by about 50 minutes.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu personally appeared on the airport runway and greeted President Biden with a hug. It was reported that airport security on this day was extremely tight and roads around the airport were closed for safety reasons.
In full remarks released before the meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu, President Biden said, “Hamas (a Palestinian armed group) has committed more atrocities than the Islamic State (IS),” and “the United States mourns with you.”

Prime Minister Netanyahu previously compared Hamas again to the Nazis and IS and emphasized, “All civilized societies must unite to destroy Hamas,” and expressed gratitude to President Biden for his visit and unwavering support.
President Biden is expected to hold a meeting with Prime Minister Netanyahu on this day and express solidarity and support for Israel, while also ordering the war not to spread throughout the Middle East.
After the meeting, President Biden was scheduled to travel to Amman, Jordan, and hold a four-party summit with the leaders of Jordan, Egypt, and the Palestinian Authority, but it was canceled due to the aftermath of the hospital explosion in the Gaza Strip.
