According to the San Francisco Police Department, at approximately 3:09 pm on the 9th, a man drove his car into the main gate of the Chinese Consulate General, and police officers responded to the scene. The driver was fatally shot by security personnel and was taken to the hospital, where he later died.

In response to this at the time, the Chinese Consulate General in San Francisco issued a statement saying, “An unidentified person violently entered the consulate, posed a serious threat to the safety of local staff and citizens, and caused serious damage to the facility,” adding, “We have proposed strict negotiations in this regard.” “I did it,” he said. Negotiation means that China protests through diplomatic channels.

The Consulate General said, “We severely condemn this violent incident,” and “We demand that the U.S. quickly investigate the truth and take strict action in accordance with the law.” “The U.S. side takes all necessary measures to ensure the safety of the Consulate General and official residence.” “I urge you,” he said.
