It has been claimed that Russian President Vladimir Putin (pictured), whose health was often rumored, suffered cardiac arrest and regained consciousness after receiving first aid. The Kremlin dismissed the claim as a lie.

On the 23rd, British tabloids such as the Mirror, citing the Telegram channel ‘General SVR’, reported that President Putin was found convulsing and collapsed on the bedroom floor the night before, and that he regained consciousness after receiving emergency CPR by medical staff. “Putin’s doctors have warned that he will not survive past the fall,” General SVR said. “This incident is seriously causing a stir within the Kremlin,” he claimed.

The Kremlin did not respond, but a few hours later it posted a photo of President Putin meeting with Kazbek Kokov, head of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic, on its website along with an explanation.

Then, on the 24th, General SVR claimed that the person who met Kokov was not Putin but a double, and posted a post saying, “Putin, who is currently in a private intensive care unit, is in stable condition, but the outlook is not optimistic.” However, no specific evidence was provided in this regard.

In response, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said at a regular briefing that day that such allegations were “absurd fraud” and that President Putin was in good health.

According to Business Insider, an Internet media outlet specializing in the American economy, the anti-Putin General SVR, which emerged in 2020, claimed to be run by former and current agents of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR). In the meantime, rumors such as President Putin’s cancer surgery and diagnosis of early-stage Parkinson’s disease were raised. Business Insider pointed out, “This channel is so influential that the Kremlin has publicly denied interesting news from this channel,” but added, “It does not provide specific evidence, so even Russian media experts view its credibility as low.”
